In 2022, Teatro Só launched a Street Arts programming line in Odemira. Growing stronger each year, it has reached an increasingly diverse audience and engaged a wider range of communities across the region.
We understand public space as a privileged site for cultural action and collective expression, embodying an affective experience in the construction of shared narratives and modes of shared occupation of „place.“ We envision the occupation of street space as a collective realm of shared living, prioritizing interventions in unconventional locations.
Our program is defined by a strong poetic and visual dimension, capable of engaging with each place in a transformative way, exploring its symbolic and emotional dimensions, in a practice capable of creating new memories, both individual and collective.
This programming brings together local artists alongside national and international projects on the same level, valuing both traditional roots and contemporary innovations.

ODEMIRA – CERRO DO PEGUINHO
ANÓNIMA | Companhia Vaivém
A deeply poetic performance! The concept of honoring „invisible people“ delivers a powerful social and emotional impact. The fusion of circus, dance, and theater, combined with a study of movement, suggests a unique performative experience, as if the artists‘ bodies tell stories without the need for words.
THE INCREDIBLE BOX | Companhia La tal
150 years ago, the Incredible Box was a grand spectacle, where the audience sought the extraordinary and left marveling at the artists‘ excellence. Time has passed, glory has faded, but the spirit remains. Now, three artists struggle to keep the illusion of the past alive. Amidst clumsy acts, worn-out sets, and a desperate search for applause, they balance on the fine tightrope between failure and genius.
AFTER ALL | Companhia PSiRC
Wild technology grows unchecked among the reeds and biodiversity of a swamp, where a family of circus artists has long lived. The landscape is dominated by Alexa, an artificial intelligence that tests human behavior. How will they react when they see that the storks no longer live in their nests? With a playful and cinematic tone, the company uses humor to reflect on the new paradigms of existence.
MARCH 2025
ODEMIRA – CERRO DO PEGUINHO
LOST DOG | Companhia Cal y Canto

ODEMIRA – CERRO DO PEGUINHO
CALOR | Jean Phillipe Kikolas
Contemporary circus with a message of dialogue and reflection, inspired by the situation faced by many people experiencing homelessness.
Involuntary travellers who have been forced to leave their homes, forced to leave in a hurry. Nomads of our time crossing the world in search of a home, blindly exploring societies and cultures, foreign cities and towns.
Heat is a performance about human relationships and the search for home. It combines clowning with circus arts to present a dreamlike and poetic universe, where the audience is invited to feel, imagine, laugh, think, and play…
