LINHA DE FUGA

November 2025 – January 2026

Escola Secundária de Odemira

A research project that began with the question “What if, instead of fear?”, a theme running through the Culture and Education Biennial #2, organised by the National Arts Plan during 2025/26.

This question sparked a process of shared reflection in the classroom, which extended to Odemira Secondary School and took shape as an exhibition.

The aesthetic challenge of this residency stemmed from drawing as a central discipline, exploring various intersections with sound, sculpture, text, and image through both two-dimensional and three-dimensional perspectives. This approach followed a strategy of developing diverse individual and collective exercises/challenges that confront and address the initial question from multiple viewpoints.

The exhibition presented at the CRIAR Space of CACO, from January 17th to 24th, results from a challenge issued by Teatro Só for a collaborative work process developed in close articulation with teacher Gonçalo Condeixa, the project featured the active participation of students from the 12th-grade drawing class at Odemira Secondary School (Amandeep Singh, Beatriz Vieira, Caetana Coutinho, Catarina Inácio, Eduardo Poeira, Harshdeep Kaur, Inês Araújo, Luan Campos, Maria Meirinho, Maria Cabecinha, Matias Baço, Maya Bauman, Nana Brück, Natália Araújo, Nuno Francisco, Saxm Pandir, Teresa Montemor, Prabhjot Sandhu, Monika Pun)..

ESCUTA – SONS QUE DESENHAM PAISAGEM

September – December 2023

Escola Secundária de Odemira

A research residency centered on the sounds and sonic qualities of Odemira, exploring active and collective listening. The project challenged the involvement and participation of the school community through a methodology comprising a series of games and exercises.

This exploratory process involved constructing a sonic, visual, and material cartography composed of diverse elements (landscape sounds, voice, music, objects, drawings, etc.). These elements were consolidated into components for the creation of a sound piece for radio and a final exhibition.
